National Apprenticeship Week 2023

A week to remember!

If you are new to the training world like me, National Apprenticeship Week might have been something that has eluded your social medias feeds in the past. However, this online event is a national celebration that takes over most social media platforms to spotlight the work-based learning career path and the benefits it has for not only each delegate but also for the employers and their companies.

However, this career path would not be an option without the work and support put in behind the scenes by the training providers and especially the trainers. They put in countless hours and heaps of effort to give their apprentice the most out of their learning and we wanted to take this week to highlight this.

Now, whilst Clear Quality has participated in this event in the past, this was our first National Apprenticeship Week as a Prime Training Provider, so we wanted to not only sing, dance and shout about all the benefits work-based learning has, but also spread light on the myths that unfortunately come attached.

MYTH EXAMPLES:

  • Apprenticeships are not just for 16-year-olds.
  • Certain Apprenticeships are only for certain departments.
  • Apprenticeships are for people who aren’t academic.

We leaned into the full theme of the week (Skills for Life) by giving me, Clear Quality’s own Marketing and Compliance Apprentice, the chance to organise and design the entire week by myself. This meant, I was given countless first time opportunities, including a work trip away, participating in client meetings, interviewing delegates and planning an online /face-to-face event and by the end of the week, I could honestly say I had learned ‘skills for life’

One of the highlights of the week, were the awards we presented. This was not just a first for me but also Clear Quality as this was the FIRST Awards Ceremony we have ever hosted. It was amazing to reward and celebrate the people who are exceptional, passionate and hard-working and that who without, our apprenticeships would not be the success that they are.

For example, we awarded one of our Employers, Brompton Bikes, as the support they give to every learner enrolled onto our Quality Practitioner Level 4 course is outstanding. Every quality method they learned has been implemented within their company to create a better service and product for their customers and work environment for their team which is what our courses are all about.

If you missed the week, every event we participated in and hosted can be found on our social media feeds, or just search for the hashtag Naw2023, to see the event in full swing.

We can not wait for National Apprenticeship Week 2024; we already know it is going to be even bigger and better with all the exciting things we have booked for training in the upcoming months.

See you then and keep an eye out for us on social media!
